First - yes there have been comparison tests done. Stillen lists one on their site I believe. (Not for a Z though). Magazines have done tests using similar packages on other cars. My first thought when I read the claims was that braking distance was more a function of weight transfer and coeff of friction between tires and road - ie how good and big the tires were. And that brakes just affected fade and feel. But 1) stock brakes can't lock up from speed 2) We all (well almost all) have better tires on then came with the car stock b/c of improved technology. And many of us have a bigger (wider) tire. 3) Even brakes that can lock up take a certain amount of time to do so. So maybe modified stock can lock up in .3 sec and big brakes take .2 sec. Well from 60 MPH that is almost 10 feet. The numbers I have in my head - these are estimated and represent a number of sources. From 60MPH. Stock is 130 feet. Better pads/rotors give use 122 feet. Big brake kit 110 feet.
